National Dutch Theatre Festival

presents the best performances of the season, also for a non Dutch-speaking audience!

During its eleven-day run (6 – 16 September, Amsterdam) the National Dutch Theatre Festival (NTF) presents the best theatre shows of the season, handing out numerous awards including those for the best actors in the Netherlands, showcasing the latest successful developments in the performing arts, taking the lead in the debate on the role the theatre plays in our society, and blurring the boundaries between the different stage disciplines. In short: visiting TF is more than just catching a show!

This year there are only two  ‘language no problem’ theatre shows at the festival. These shows do not involve Dutch language or they are English spoken. So English speaking audiences do not have to miss out here! First of all, the festival presents the Official Jury Selection of 2018; eleven best performances of this moment, according to the Jury. SALAM by Noord Nederlands Toneel / Asko|Schönberg is one of those and will be suitable for a not Dutch speaking audience. The National Dutch Theatre Festival also shows TF Specials. These shows just cannot be missed on this festival full of highlights, for example because they were nominated for a price or illustrate recent developments in the world of theatre. There is one ‘language no problem’ show among the TF Specials: For The Time Being by Schweigman& /Slagwerk Den Haag – this performance is nominated for the ‘MIME’ Award 2018.
